Twenty-one committees. Zero paid staff.

Four teams, 21 committees under them. They raise the money and run the events that pay for smaller classes, two staff in every room, music, tech, art and the garden. Pick a team, then pick a committee. Most parents end up on two or three.

BEFORE YOU START

Any parent who wants to volunteer in a classroom, chaperone a field trip, or be on campus during the school day has to clear LAUSD approval first. Start the volunteer application. Committee work that happens off campus does not need it.

Class Historians

Liaise between classroom and the Yearbook Committee. Ensure all students in the class are represented, and help collect the photos the Yearbook Committee needs.

Community Service

Manages community service projects: Thanksgiving food drive, Halloween costume collection, Toys for Tots in December, school clean-up day in spring.

Lost and Found

Kids leave stuff, and they need to get it back. Manages retrieval of lost items a few times a month.

Pali Ambassadors

Welcomes and supports new TK and K families. Acts as a bridge during the transition into elementary school through guidance, communication and community connection.

Room Parents

Connect your class and keep everyone up to date. Manages teacher appreciation activities for the classroom.

Science Fair

A classic school tradition. An opportunity for kids to explore any topic via the scientific method: observation, question, hypothesis, experiment, conclusion.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation

Organizes a week-long celebration of teachers including gifts, events and a culminating lunch for teachers and staff.

Yearbook

Memory makers needed. Lead historians collecting all the content for our annual yearbook.

Concerts

Student concerts where every grade performs for their families. Holiday in December, spring in April.

Educational Assemblies

Brings outside vendors in to engage one or multiple grades with new ideas that supplement classroom curriculum.

Gala and Auction

Our premier adult-only event featuring dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions, and entertainment. Held in winter and one of the biggest fundraisers of the year.

Halloween Parade

Coordinates the student costume parade, including music playlists, signage, parent flyers and emcee planning. A fall favorite for parents and kids alike.

Party Book

Organizes parent-hosted parties where all ticket proceeds go back to the school. Families can host classic events or new ideas throughout the year.

Yee Haw Fall Festival

The largest community event of the year, with games, food trucks, bounce houses and carnival booths.

Corporate Sponsorships

Builds partnerships with local businesses through the Pali Partners Program: monetary or in-kind donations, and Give Back Nights.

Grants

Looking for parents with grant writing experience or interest. Follow our templates or bring your own.

Pali Giving

Leads the annual direct donation campaign and manages outreach, strategy and fundraising from summer through December.

Treasurers

Manages donated class funds for off-campus activities as well as classroom supplies.

Walk-a-thon

A school-wide event where students raise money from family and friends to support their efforts in walking as many laps as possible during their class time slot.

Book Fair

Hosted in the library, the book fair offers a bookstore experience for students and their families, with proceeds going to the programs that make Pali what it is.

Pali Merch

Designs and sells school spirit wear including t-shirts, hats and accessories. Coordinates ordering, delivery and on-campus sales events.

PEP Board

Helps run PEP itself. Not a committee, but the group that keeps the other 21 running. Elections are in the spring.
